‘Super Troopers 2′ Is Officially Happening

It's been discussed for years, but the sequel to Super Troopers is finally happening. Part of the original was filmed in the Hudson Valley. No word if anything will be filmed locally as of now. According to Huffington Post, actor Steve Lemme recently confirmed it's a go.

The new movie has a budget of around $27 million and they are close to hitting their goal. The plan is to start a Kickstarter campaign to cover the rest. And based on the original's cult status as a comedy classic, they should have no problem cruising past their goal.

Many of the original characters will return, but sadly the actor who played Commandant Edwin Spangler, Daniel von Bargen recently passed away.
