Beautiful Surprise Waiting Outside of Hudson Valley Store
Hudson Valley residents enjoyed a beautiful surprise over the weekend.
Sometimes we need to take a moment and really enjoy the little things in life when they present themselves (life gets very busy and it can be hard to do that). I was running around the other day in Dutchess County trying to get a lot of things done and my last stop was going to the pharmacy. Of course this happens when you have a lot of things to do, I somehow started to run behind on everything and was getting pretty stressed out. That's never a fun feeling...I walked in quickly, grabbed my stuff and ran out, but when I came out something made me make a complete stop (in a good way).
What great surprise was waiting outside of a Hudson Valley store?
A beautiful rainbow, before you go and say this isn't a big deal and this happens all time just hear me out for a second.
For the moment I saw the rainbow I stopped, looked up and stopped thinking about all the other things I had to do and enjoyed the moment. When I looked around the parking lot I saw that people were doing the exact same thing. Everyone was staring in the awe at the beautiful rainbow, smiling and taking a moment to stop and enjoy it.
Why do rainbows form?
It's pretty cool how it happens, rainbows can form anytime there are droplets in the air and when sunlight shines from behind them at a low angle. Makes sense, right before this rainbow formed there was a pretty heavy rainstorm and when it quickly stopped the sunshine started to come out.
I was on Facebook later that night and noticed that A TON of people posted pictures of the rainbow and commented on how beautiful it really was. A few people also made comments that they wish there was a pot of gold at the end of it LOL. Wishful thinking...
So here's the reminder to take a moment and enjoy the small things when life seems to get stressful.
