More than 12 hours after the crash that left two dead and 23 injured at SXSW, some new details have emerged, including the name of the driver. According to the Austin-American Stateman, police have identified the person who was behind the wheel during the incident.

Before releasing the name of the suspect to the press, the local police were waiting to file two capital murder charges against the man who plowed through a crowd of SXSW attendees around 12:30AM on Thursday morning in downtown Austin. The suspect will also be facing 23 counts of aggravated assault.

New details further clarify the identities of the deceased. The woman, whose name has yet to be released, was on a moped when she was killed. The man who died was 35-year-old Steven Craenmehr, a creative director and sonic branding specialist at Massive Music in Amsterdam. According to police, he was riding a bicycle by the corner of 11th and Red River streets when he was hit and killed. There was another man on the moped who survived and is currently in stable condition.

Since the incident, the Mohawk, which is hosting the House of Vans/Stereogum showcase, has canceled all shows for today, which would have featured sets by Cloud Nothings, Pains of Being Pure at Heart and F----d Up. However, the rest of the SXSW activities are set to continue as planned.

"We're talking to [the venues] to see how they should best proceed," said SXSW managing director Roland Swenson at a press conference earlier today. "We feel we have an obligation to the people who have traveled here from all over the world."
