Earlier this year, The Breeders released their brand new album, All Nerve. It was their first new release in ten years, and it still remains one of my favorite albums of the year.

They've since been on tour, and they're making a stop in New York City in August, playing a show at Prospect Park in Brooklyn as part of the Celebrate Brooklyn concert series. And, even better: the show is totally free!

It takes place on Saturday, August 11th, and doors open at 6:30. The band will be playing with Speedy Ortiz. Celebrate Brooklyn has been home to a lot of cool concerts this summer, including Common, Aimee Mann, and Courtney Barnett.

Last week, I was able to see The Pixies perform at Jones Beach with Weezer, and it was awesome, but Kim Deal isn't in the band anymore - she's pretty much shifted all her focus to her work with The Breeders. It would be cool to see The Breeders so soon after that show, if only so it feels like I was able to "complete" the classic Pixies lineup in my head.

It'll be tough to find a better deal for a concert this summer. Will you be going?
