Throw Back Thursday: Finch – What It Is To Burn

Just for reference, this album will be 14 years old next month.

God I loved this song. Off the album from the same name, the entire album was freaking perfection. YES it was emo. YES it was amazing.

The album opens with New Beginnings, chugging away with the distortion. Letters To You, Perfection Through Silence, Stay With Me. They could have all been singles.

Three Simple Words. DAMN that song was everything.

And then they closed out the album with this kick in the head. Just perfection.

Quick story. I went to see Coheed and Cambria at a club in Albany called Valentines way back when, when they were kicking off their first national tour. Finch was opening for them, and they started their set with What It Is To Burn. I was in the middle of the floor when it started and the pit went bonkers. I got kicked in the neck.

Amazing show.
