
Leading Wildlife Activist Films at Wolf Conservation Center in New York
We are shedding a Townsquare Spotlight on super model, actress, documentarian, and wildlife activist Katie Cleary.
Katie Cleary received her first break on the hit TV show, America’s Next Top Model and has an expansive career in the modeling and entertainment business for more than 20 years. about her upcoming documentary Protectors of the Wild which focuses on the urgent need to save endangered wolves in North America.

While she was in New York filming the wolves of the Wolf Conservation Center, Katie made time to speak with me about her remarkable journey that has taken her from being a model and Hollywood actress to becoming one of the world's leading animal activists & documentary filmmakers.
Recently, she directed the acclaimed animal documentary Why On Earth, featuring Clint Eastwood, showcasing her dedication and passion for this critical cause. Now she heads to NYC on a mission to help and shed light on the wolves of New York.
The Wolf Conservation Center
The Wolf Conservation Center (WCC) participates in the federal Species Survival Plan (SSP) recovery programs for the Mexican gray wolf and the red wolf, two of the rarest mammals in North America. Both species at one time were completely extinct in the wild.

Since 2003 the WCC has played a critical role in preserving and protecting these imperiled species with through carefully managed breeding and reintroduction. To date, the WCC remains one of the three largest holding facilities for these rare species and seven wolves from the Center have been given the extraordinary opportunity to resume their rightful place on the wild landscape.
Katie Cleary's Wildlife Activism
Katie's commitment to wildlife preservation is evident in her documentary work, including her award-winning 2023 film Why On Earth, where she collaborated with icons such as Clint Eastwood and Maggie Q to shed light on the devastating effects of deforestation on endangered species.
As founder of the non-profit organization "Peace 4 Animals," and the creator of “World Animal News,” Katie has been a leading voice in the fight for animal rights and environmental conservation. Through her platforms, she has raised significant funds for animal-related causes and worked tirelessly to raise awareness about critical issues facing our planet.
