Savannah Bound: Hudson Valley Graduate Now Banana Ball Player

One of the biggest success stories of the past few years has undoubtedly been the popularity of 'Banana Ball.' A whole new world when it comes to baseball; the rules are different, the game moves faster, is louder, oh and then there's the dancing, umpires dressed up like ninjas doing flips as they call plays, and all the tricks as part of the on-field action...

Exciting news for 2026, as the Savannah Bananas have drafted someone who graduated from a Hudson Valley high school as a pitcher.

From Trinity-Pawling To Savannah Bananas Baseball

The Trinity-Pawling community is buzzing with excitement after hearing the news of a class of 2019 graduate having been drafted to the big show...and by big show we mean the Banana League.'

An independent college-prep boarding school for boys in grades 7-12, Trinity-Pawling School has been around for nearly 120 years. Class of 2019's Connor Harris, who did a post-graduate year at the Dutchess County based school then went on to attend George Washington University, Winthrop in South Carolina, battled back from Tommy John surgery with his eye on his next move.....Banana Ball.

Harris submitted a Banana Ball application video back in March of 2025:

Fast forward to the end of June, Harris made his Banana Ball debut in front of 39,000 fans, and has now been officially drafted by the Savannah Bananas in their first ever draft.

Dutchess County Graduate Drafted By Savannah Bananas

November 2025 brought the first ever Banana Ball draft, which was inclusive of returning and new players. A fan vote that took place before the draft allowed each team to keep 11 players from the prior roster, and then the draft pool was made up of new and existing players to complete the rosters. This inaugural draft was held in order to account for the Banana Ball expansion in 2026, where two additional teams will join the league (for a total of six).

Harris, who was drafted during the eighth round, credited Trinity-Pawling posting on their Instagram post about the signing : 'it wouldn't have been possible without Trinity Pawling. Thank You.'

It has been a pretty big off season for Banana Ball, as the league recently announced what is being referred to as 'the biggest surprise in Banana Ball history' as former MLB player Jackie Bradley Jr. recently signed with one of the new teams. Bradley Jr. will play for the newly established Indianapolis Clowns during their inaugural season following his tenure as an MLB'er with the Red Sox, Brewers, Blue Jays and Royals. Bradley Jr. was the first ever pick in the Banana Ball Player Draft.
