This Popular New Paltz Ice Cream Stand Is NOT Closing
Though the weather hasn't been fully cooperative lately, it is indeed springtime in the Hudson Valley, and one of the most important things that comes along with the first few weeks of spring...the opening of our favorite ice cream stands for the season, of course.
When It Comes To Ice Cream Preferences...
It may sound silly, but around here, ice cream loyalty is a pretty big deal. Where you choose to get your cones, cups, milkshakes, and dips says a little something about you. Now when it comes to your flavor combinations and toppings of choice, that's another story!

Meanwhile, In New Paltz
The rumor mill was swirling, getting a bit twisted if you will, in New Paltz recently. A social media post had locals a bit worked up thinking that a popular ice cream stand in town was closing.
Spoiler alert - it most definitely is not.
We got word from the source, Twistee Cone management, that they are definitely not closing their New Paltz ice cream stand, in fact, they just had a major hiring event this past weekend.
To clarify the for sale signage posted in the window:
While we listed it for sale, we have no intention of closing our doors until it’s sold no matter how long that takes. We value our customers and the community we have built and plan to keep running as usual until it sells.

Let's Talk Twistee Cone
An ice cream stand located across from Walgreens on Main Street (Rt. 299) in New Paltz, Twistee Cone has been serving up sweet treats to the community for 10+ years, officially opening in May 2014. Well known for their 'dole whips,' soft serve, homemade hard ice cream and Italian ice, plus cakes and ice cream cookie sandwiches, even treats for your four-legged friends. Twistee Cone is constantly offering new flavors on their menu board...and always entertaining customers with their signature cone costume.
Though Twistee Cone hasn't officially shared the plans for their spring 2025 opening date, keep your eyes, and your taste buds open for a mid-April open.
