Ulster County Man Accused of Raping Minor

An Ulster County man is accused of having sex with a young female and sending her lewd photos.

Tuesday, City of Kingston Police Detective Division and Special Investigations Unit finished their investigation into a complaint about an adult male having sexual relations with a minor.

Police charged 29-year-old Hector A. Lopez, of Kingston with 3rd-degree rape, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Authorities say during their investigation they learned that Lopez had sex with a 16-year old female victim. Lopez is also accused of sending her inappropriate photos.

Lopez is currently being held at the Kingston Police Department awaiting arraignment in Kingston City Court.
