Unemployment rates have dropped in multiple counties throughout the Hudson Valley region and the Catskills.

The Daily Freeman reports that there is good news for the workforce in the local area. Unemployment rates have dropped in a bunch of different mid-Hudson Valley counties.

In Ulster County, the unemployment rate for July 2018 was lower than the July 2017 rate. It went from 4.7% to 4% in Ulster County. In Dutchess County, the rate went from 4.4% in July 2017 to 3.8% in July 2018, according to the Daily Freeman.

Other counties that saw a decrease in unemployment were Orange, Greene, Columbia, Sullivan, and Delaware County. Orange County went from 4.7% to 4.1%. Greene County dropped from 5% to 4.3%. Columbia County went from 3.7% to 3.1%. Sullivan County went from 4.4% in July 2017 to 3.6% in July 2018. The new casino probably has something to do with the large drop, but that is not confirmed. Finally, Delaware County dropped from 5.3% to 4.7%

The statewide unemployment rate had also dropped from 4.9% in July 2017 to 4.2% in July 2018.
