Once again, goats have descended on the City of Poughkeepsie... and there's new adorable video showing their arrival.

For a decade, the New York State Bridge Authority has been using a more non-traditional way to clear underbrush and poison ivy from below the Walkway Over the Hudson. Meet the landscaping goats of the Hudson Valley.

"Famous" Landscaping Goats Have Returned to Poughkeepsie, NY

Green Goats, a business out of Rhinebeck, NY, supplies their weed-eating goats to homes, businesses, and bridges all across the tri-state area. Recently, the NYSBA shared videos of their arrival to their gig in Poughkeepsie.

"They're baaaaa-ck!", the NYSBA shared on Facebook. Videos show the goats' arrival as well as footage of their future meals: grass and weeds that are taller than the goats themselves (below).

Why Use Goats as Landscapers?

The goats are talented at clearing land for a few specific reasons. Not only are they well-known for their appetites, but they are also unaffected by the oils from plants like poison ivy.

Their skill at clearing these types of plants has also led to a warning from officials for residents eager to visit the working goats. "We advise against getting too close", the NYSBA shared, "the oils from [poison ivy] are on their coats and can easily be transferred to people."
