Could a recent article in the New York Times lead to added foot traffic on the Walkway Over The Hudson? The feature, dated April 25th and written by Julie Besonen, takes a look at the Walkway's history and impact on the region and could very well influence some to pay a visit.

The Walkways impact on the community has been immense since its opening in 2009. An average of 500,000 people per year utilize it in one form or another according to their website.

While the added attention is nice, it certainly doesn't hurt that added tourist dollars could be coming to the region. So while we may have to deal with a more crowded situation on the weekends sometimes, these visitors are eating at our restaurants, shopping at our stores and staying in our hotels. And then hopefully, telling all their friends about what a great time they had in the Hudson Valley.
