This is like something straight out of Fox's COPS. Police say a 57-year-old man lead authorities on a wild, high speed chase that lasted through two states. The Times Herald Record reports that Town of Warwick police arrested Dennis Gleason of Franklin, N.J., early Tuesday morning. The chase, which saw speeds exceed 75 miles per hour, began in Vernon, NJ, for a traffic violation, would later cross the New York state line, only to end up on foot before the suspect was taken down by K-9 police.

Police say spike strips were deployed that disabled three out of four tires on the 2005 Ford Mustang. According to Lt. John Rader, the chase would continue another eight miles through the Village of Warwick and toward the Village of Florida. The suspect then turned to head back to New Jersey again, and drove back through the Warwick. That's when Gleason hit the guardrail and went off the road near the intersection of Route 94 South and Warwick Turnpike.

Officer Kevin Halsey and K-9 police dog K-9 Nicky apprehended the suspect after he fled by foot.. Police say he taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Warwick for treatment of his injuries and exposure to the cold.
