
How to Visit New Waterfall Overlook in the Hudson Valley
A brand new overlook has just been unveiled in the Hudson Valley, just in time for the scenic fall season.
It's been a good year for local nature lovers. Recently, a new 2-mile trail was opened in Warwick, NY in Orange County (below), as well as a spectacular 34-mile rail trail in the Adirondacks. Now, Columbia County is sharing exciting news of their own.
Columbia Land Conservancy Improves the High Falls Conservation Area
The Columbia Land Conservancy recently shared news about their latest improvement to their High Falls Conservation Area in Philmont, NY. The 150-foot High Falls waterfall, which is the tallest in Columbia County, used to produce hydropower for nearly 20 nearby mills in the 19th century. Now, there's a better vantage point to celebrate the falls.
Columbia Land Conservancy Announces New High Falls Lookout
"The Levy Lookout at High Falls is officially complete and we couldn't be more thrilled!", the CLC recently shared on Facebook. The accompanying video showed the views visitors can expect on their next excursion (below).
How to Visit the High Falls Conservation Area
The High Falls Conservation Area is located at 540 Roxbury Rd in Philmont, NY in Columbia County. The conservation area includes a 1-mile trail where explorers can enjoy the Agawamuck Creek as well as High Falls and the newly-constructed lookout, which was built in honor of CLC Trustee Mark Levy.

Leashed dogs are welcome on Columba Land Conservancy trails, and while the High Falls Conservation Area trail is relatively short, trail conditions are not recommended for strollers or wheelchairs.
