Sears Newburgh is allegedly sending people friend requests on Facebook.

On Friday, January 25, I wake up and check my Facebook (like every other person). I was surprised to see I have a friend request because at this point I'm friends on Facebook with everyone I know. I was even more surprised to see that Sears Newburgh was the account requesting to add me.

Yes, you read that correctly. Sears Newburgh sent me a friend request on Facebook. Confused, and curious, I check out the profile. I see that they're sharing national Sears posts and posting about their own sales.

Now, this is not a page, but a legitimate profile. As of 6:03 p.m. on Friday, January 25, they have 724 friends on the account. No, I am not one of those people. However, someone who works at our station is (but I'm not revealing names) and multiple people at the station were requested by the account.

Is this the real Sears Newburgh making this account? Is this a scam? Why didn't they just make a page instead of a profile?!
