When you get an opportunity to talk to an iconic baseball player, you take it. When it's a member of some of the best teams in the history of baseball, you jump at it.

Bernie Williams is a beloved Yankee and a man of myriad talents. He's best-known for his prowess on the diamond and his willingness to give it everything he's got in every at-bat, but he's starting to become as known for his guitar-playing ability and musicianship as he is for his athletic ability.

He's going to be performing at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Connecticut this weekend (along with a very cool charity softball tournament) and you can find out more about that event and where to snag tickets here.

But we spoke to him about the interesting turns his life has taken, how his background in music comes from the same place as his love of baseball, and you get to experience my nerding out over talking to him--proof that baseball geekery transcends what team you root for.
