Beer is so versatile. It can be used to celebrate social occasions, it can be used to enhance a nice meal, it may even reduce the likelihood of kidney stones!

But beer as protest? That's what popular Scottish craft brewery BrewDog are attempting with their latest beer which mocks the anti-gay views of the president of Russia: Hello My Name is Vladimir. Here's the description on the bottle:

Hello, my name is Vladimir. I am 100 per cent hetero and will pass laws to prove it. Drinking me gives you energy, ignorance and dogmatism required to shoot a deer (with your top off) and pass internationally denounced, discriminatory legislation (top optional) before you've even had your caviar breakfast.

If you're familiar with the guys at BrewDog, you know that this sort of thing is right up their alley. Here's a clip from their TV show on Esquire where they brew solar-powered beer:

According to the brewery, 50 percent of the profits raised through sales of this beer will go directly to charities that represent oppressed minorities around the world. Check out all the info on their website here.
