35,000 people who have used E-ZPass in the Hudson Valley in the past month have been overcharged.  According to The Poughkeepsie Journal, those who entered the NY State Thruway North from the Woodbury exit were charged too much thanks to a computer glitch.  The glitch appeared between August 14 and September 5 and did not affect cash customers, only E-ZPass users.

The Thruway Authority assures everyone that the glitch has been fixed and that customers have already been credited for the mistake.   A spokesperson told The Journal:

All customers who were inadvertently overbilled will be credited automatically on their next E-ZPass statements. Customers do not need to contact the Thruway Authority or E-ZPass to receive a credit for overcharges

If you see something on your bill that looks fishy, you should contact E-ZPass customer service at 1-800-333-8655 or E-ZPassNY.com
