I grew up on The Eagles. I love the original of this song. But this cover is a complete reimagining. And it's awesome.

Our Last Night has made a career out of covering songs in order to sell their original albums, and they do it well. Here's the thing about this cover. The guitar is on point. It's almost identical in it's technicality. Until they start the distortion and the lunacy, of course.

"Hotel California", as explained by Eagles frontman Don Henley, is about excess and consumption in America. About the country's dark underbelly of greed and consumerism. Lots of people think it's about a whorehouse or a specific set of events. But's it's more about the bands perception of the LA high life, and the American dream in general.

That's heavy stuff. And I think OLN have done a FANTASTIC job in updating the sound and bringing it into the current time, without losing the core sound and vibe. It's more violent, more frenetic, more jangly and in your face. And the ending is bonkers.
