Chris Hayden has a lot to be thankful for. The Maybrook resident recently got engaged, started a new job and has the love of his three beautiful daughters.

But Chris' life has been far from easy, and during a dark period, he got the word "HATE" inked across his neck and knuckles. It was a defense mechanism, a wall between Chris and the world. When he became a father, Chris said that hate gave way to true love.

However, Chris was left with a permanent mark of a time in his life he was eager to put behind him. He's come to deeply regret the "HATE" tattoos. He sees the stares people give him, knows he's judged by strangers.

Thanks to WRRV listeners, Chris can continue making positive changes. On Thursday, Chris stopped by the station to pick up a $500 gift certificate to Jekyll & Hyde Tattoo & Piercing Parlour in New Windsor to put toward a cover up piece. He won the gift certificate after competing in the Deuce & Brandi Tattoo Cover Up Challenge. Chris and his fiancee couldn't stop thanking WRRV for the prize and promised to show us the final product after he gets the cover up work done.

Best of luck, Chris!
