Some Hudson Valley Fourth of July fireworks have been rescheduled because of the threat of thunderstorms.

Because the Fourth of July falls on a Monday, many Hudson Valley communities have scheduled their fireworks for Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. While this weekend's forecast is spectacular, the threat of rain and thunder on Friday has caused some celebrations to be postponed.

The Town of Newburgh has moved their fireworks to Saturday at 9:15pm. In addition, Newburgh's Community Day celebration will also be moved to July 2 at 6pm. It will feature music and food, with fireworks at dusk.

The Town of East Fishkill has also postponed their fireworks and concert scheduled for Friday. The celebration will now take place on Sunday, July 3. The concert with Adam and the Newhearts will start at 7pm with a fireworks display at 9:15pm.

The Village of New Paltz was also scheduled to have fireworks on Friday. In a message to their Facebook page on Friday afternoon, officials say that they will postpone the celebration until the previously announced rain date of July 8.

Other fireworks celebrations in The Village of Maybrook and at the Accord Speedway are still scheduled for Friday. Be sure to check out our official Fireworks map for more updates throughout the weekend.
