Beneath the wintry mix that blankets our homes, driveways, schools and roads lies our own beautiful scenic Hudson Valley, waiting to emerge. The snow this winter has been relentless.

One of the most important and overlooked winter tasks is shoveling.

When it comes to shoveling, one must know the proper procedures or can easily find themselves in a dangerous position.

Townsquare Media of the Hudson Valley staff decided to put together a short video to help keep those in our community safe.

The project began with only one intern. With the safety of the community weighing heavily on her shoulders, she knew she couldn't handle this responsibility all on her own. She began recruiting. First she turned to the other interns working in the building. Listening to her explain the time-sensitive situation, the other interns knew they had to help and fast.

The group of four interns decided to split up and spread out inside the building. Each desperately searching for others to help with the cause. After what seemed like forever the group reunited in the atrium. Three others had joined their team: Frankenberry, brand manager of Mix 97.7, Traffic Director Jill Price and Assistant Traffic Director Marissa Bisaccia.

The team grabbed their hats, gloves and set out to embrace the cold. The camera was set up and they immediately began shooting. For two hours the team shivered in the cold as they worked together to shoot the life-altering footage.

To ensure the message reached the community as soon as possible, a single intern bolted to the editing studio. With the fate of the Hudson Valley community hanging in the balance, she edited the footage as fast as her fingers would allow her. Then like lightning the video was fast tracked to Jackie, the digital managing editor. Jackie made the video her first priority and in a matter of seconds, she had posted the video.

The video you are about to watch contains the highly sensitive and important message Townsquare Media risked their lives for. The tips demonstrated here are from the American Heart Association and the American Physical Therapy Association.
