Nursing In Correctional Facilities

Correctional Nurses function as members of a treatment team. The common goal is to provide the community standard of care to our incarcerated patients. This includes health care, patient teaching, and provision of supportive care. Nurses also participate in staff training, prepare clinical and administrative reports, and maintain infection control standards. As the primary caregivers, the Correctional medical team has a rewarding role, and work collaboratively to achieve high standards of care.
