Over the past 12 years the Benedictine Health Foundation Rosemary Gruner Fund has helped over 1400 families in the Mid-Hudson Valley who are facing financial challenges while receiving cancer treatment. Unfortunately, the number of those who need help increases every year.

This where you can make a difference. Join us for the 12th annual Bike for Cancer Care, Sunday, September 20th at Dietz Stadium in Kingston, to benefit the Benedictine Health Foundation Rosemary Gruner Fund.  4 different routes are offered, a Round Robin Ride within Dietz Stadium (a friendly kids’ competition), a 12 and 25 mile ride.

This year, the 50 mile ride has been renamed to the Dan Barnes Memorial 50 mile ride, to honor the former Kingston High Athlete who lost his fight with cancer in March of this year.  There will also be a bike rodeo from 10-noon for kids ages 5-10 and a post ride BBQ!

$15 entry fee, $25 for the 50 mile ride, registration begins at 7:45 am at Dietz Stadium in Kingston. You can also purchase a mile marker to honor of someone or in memory of someone who lost their battle to this awful disease.

Dan Gruner, representing the Benedictine Health Foundation Rosemary Gruner Fund was my guest on 'In Touch' this week with all of the details and why Dan and his family started this fund in 2004.
