If you do any holiday shopping in uptown Kingston and were excited to take advantage of the free on street parking that was previously announced, the plan has changed.

Yesterday Kingston Mayor Shane Gallo changed his mind on offering free on street parking. The plan was for three districts in uptown Kingston to offer free parking from Monday December 14th thru December 31st.

According to the Daily Freeman, Ellen DeFalco, the mayor's secretary, told the Freeman that the mayor was advised to rescind the order by the Kingston Uptown Business Association and the Pike Plan Commission.

Kingston has parking meters on the streets in Uptown, Midtown and Downtown business districts.

According to the Kingston Police Facebook page, one of the Uptown business owners claims they are not responsible for the free parking order being taken away.

This Executive Order has been rescinded by the Mayor's Office. If you have questions, please call City Hall at 845-331-0080
