The Mets signed Amed Rosario at 16, in 2012. He was the ripe old age of 16 and they gave him the largest international signing bonus they've ever doled out; $1.75 million. A lot of the squawk about him was that he was toolsy, but he needed to produce.

Ladies and gentlemen, for the most part, Mr. Rosario has arrived.

He is the ripe old age of 20. He is in the Advanced A Florida State League. At the start of the season, I think he was the 3rd youngest player in the league.

And with all that being said, I REALLY hope that this isn't a mirage.

Amed Rosario does not belong to be in St. Lucie much longer. He is toying with the other players and he needs to be promoted.

13th in batting average with a .313.
13th in the runs scored with 19.
Tied for 1st with 45 hits.
1st in the league with 6 triples.
3rd in RBI's with 26.
Tied for 2nd with 71 total bases.

Amed Rosario is skinny as a rail and can add some bulk and hopefully a little more power and doubles. Obviously, his speed is great with 6 triples.

He's also the best defensive shortstop in the entire Mets system. And that's actually saying quite a bit, considering the types of fielders they have.

I don't know if his stats will hold up into the future, but he certainly has the ability to perform this way at higher levels. When, NOT IF, he gets to Binghamton later this summer, I highly suggest you make your way over to a game or 2. I'm not sure he'll be as good or better than Jose Reyes, but I think it's certainly possible.
