Remember writing letters to Santa Claus? Well, so do a few members of the U.S. Postal Service, who allegedly took advantage of holiday good will.

According to federal authorities, Terry Jackson, 22, Mahogany Strickland, 23, and Nickyeves Saintalbord, 28, worked on the a program U.S. Postal Service has called "Operation Santa." Underprivileged children write letters to Santa Claus, the Postal Service receives them, and people can fulfill their wishes with donations.

Sounds pretty sweet, right? A really kind, generous, and goodhearted thing to do to make holidays special and memorable for kids.

Leave it to some Scrooges to ruin the whole thing. According to Reuters:

According to U.S. authorities, Jackson, Strickland and Saintalbord wrote numerous letters pretending to be poor children and brought them to the main post office facility in Manhattan, which is the center of the "Operation Santa" program.

The three workers made copies of the letters to ensure they would be available at the desk where customers adopt gift requests, the complaint said. The three ended up receiving laptop computers, tablets, clothing and other items, according to the complaint.

Interesting fact: not only did these individuals get laptops, tablets, clothing, and other items, they also managed to get themselves the unenviable title of WORST HUMAN BEINGS ON THE PLANET.

Coal for you all forever. For. Ev. Er.
