The Lumineers headlined the second annual Speed of Sound Festival at Dutchess County Airport this past weekend. All the bands who performed were great, but The Lumineers stole the show.

I had hoped to get out to the show a little earlier, but one thing was certain, I wasn't going to miss Swear and Shake's set at 4pm. Made it to the airport a little after 3 and had claimed a spot in front of the band about ten minutes before they took the stage. Swear And Shake are originally from the Hudson Valley but have moved on to Nashville. They'll be recording a brand new album this fall in Virginia.

Rayland Baxter and Simon Felice were the next two acts to take the stage. Both put on terrific shows. Felice is actually responsible for producing The Lumineers most recent album 'Cleopatra'.

The Lumineers took the stage a few minutes after 8 and for the next hour and half, managed to impress even this jaded concert goer. Lead singer Wesley Shutz spoke of their experience recording in the Hudson Valley and how it had a big effect on the band. During their set, Shultz came out into the crowd while performing and of course I got a high five.
