Allow me to sound like Grandpa Deuce for a second if you will: They just don't make (bad) movies like they used to.

Back in the 1980s and early 1990s, action movies weren't based on excitement and unbelievable stunts. They were based on excitement, unbelievable stunts, and a ton of villainous people getting brutally murdered.

Yep, the action stars of 25 years ago weren't like Batman and Spider-Man, living by a moral code of refraining from actually killing their foes. Nope, instead, they willfully and gleefully exterminated their enemies, generally in the most brutal way possible. If a huge gun or a helicopter or rocket launcher could be involved, it was seen as a bonus.

It was a simpler time.

With that in mind, let's enjoy this compilation of one of the premier stars of the time, one Jean-Claude Van Damme, living up to these expectations and exceeding them en route to becoming an iconic figure of his era.
