One of Putnam County's best!!!

If you haven't noticed it yet, we are absolutely spoiled by the number of amazing hometowns we have across the Hudson Valley! One thing I love about all of them is that they all have one or two things that give them their own unique reasons why we should check them out. Mahopac, located in the Town of Carmel is one of those places!

How do You Correctly Say Mahopac?

Before we can properly share some of the things we love about Mahopac, let's try to figure out how to correctly say it. Regina, a Mahopac resident texted us that the way we are saying Mahpoc is incorrect. Putting the emphasis on MAY is incorrect, she said the proper way to say Mahopac is Ma-HO-pac, with the emphasis on the HO. Pronouncing it Ma-HO-pac is the Native American pronunciation according to Wikipedia. Whichever way you choose to pronounce it, Mahopac has some great reasons to visit.

Does Size Matter?

Most say it doesn't but in this case, I kind of feel like it does...LOL! One way to tell if a town in the Hudson Valley is one worth spending any of your summer time in or at is by the size of their lake and Mahopac has one of the area's best lakes.

The lake holds numerous events throughout the summer including a great 4th of July celebration every year.

Popular Wedding Venue

Lots of folks across the Hudson Valley have spent at least one night at Villa Barone Hilltop Manor located at 466 Route 6, Mahopac, NY. One of the Hudson Valley's most popular venues for weddings, sweet 16's, and proms, Villa Barone continues to be one of the area's most exclusive places to celebrate.
