5 Terrible Driving Habits You Need to Stop

Texting and other cell phone use while driving is very dangerous, and is illegal under New York State law. Using your cell phone while driving can result in traffic tickets and fines (it's not a cheap fine either!)

The people we surveyed were very passionate about this one. I even had to tell people to "take it easy". Not using your turn signal is so frustrating for other drivers on the road. The worst is when a driver slows down to turn without their blinker on.....Ahhhhhh! I don't have road rage I promise!

Do you blow through stop signs, or fail to yield? Shame on you! Those signs are there for a reason. You never know when a pedestrian or car could come out of nowhere. I'm convinced nobody knows what yield means. So here I'll help you:

A yield sign assigns the right-of-way to traffic in certain intersections. If you see a yield sign ahead, be prepared to let other drivers crossing your road take the right-of-way

Do you get annoyed when somebody is following way to close to you? Both parties get frustrated in this situation. One is mad that the other is riding their bumper, and the other is mad that the driver in front won't speed it up. Tailgating can lead to accidents, and also intentional actions, like brake checking. Either way it's dangerous, so knock it off.

Eating and doing make-up are just a couple examples of things you shouldn't do while driving. It's distracting, we all know that, yet we continue to stuff our faces, blow dry our hair (somebody really witnessed that), read the paper, among other things.
