One of the first local breweries I got to know very well was Newburgh Brewing Company; they started the brewery up right around the same time I started hosting mornings here on WRRV and we both blossomed into wonderful, beloved Hudson Valley institutions that are heralded and respected across the region. Well, one of us did anyway.

I'm talking about Newburgh Brewing. They did.

I've gotten to know Paul, Chris, Charlie, Ty, and everyone else at the brewery pretty well over the years and a few things become apparent from the moment you speak to them: their love of beer (and their willingness to brew any crazy idea that pops into their head), and their love of the Hudson Valley. So many of their beers have a local connection--from naming their beers for regional landmarks and historical events to using ingredients that grow in their backyard--literally--there's no doubt they are a local brewery through and through.

I've never had a beer from them that was less than stellar; in fact, some of their beers are among my favorites of any brewery anywhere. Good thing you're going to get a chance to try them out at the Hudson River Craft Beer Fest this, you lucky devil you.

Get familiar with what they bring to the table by checking out these appearances on Deuce and Brandi.

The Hudson River Craft Beer Fest is fast approaching and it will sell out quickly. So in order to get you to realize how imperative it is that you snag those tickets now--and to make those who have already got their tickets even more excited about the event--I've decided to shine a spotlight on several breweries that you will have the opportunity to sample in Beacon on September 19th.

Of course, I would also be crazy not to also remind you that Newburgh Brewing is the home of our WRRV Sessions events; every month a WRRV artist rolls through and performs for you at the Brewery while you get to enjoy delicious beer. I know. Newburgh Brewing is awesome. You don't have to tell me.
