What should you do about your old underwear? It feels too weird to donate it most of the time, so what can be done to put it to good use? Well, instead of using your bra to support you, you should use your bra to support Mother Nature.

How Often Should You Replace Your Underwear?

Some say that bras should be replaced every 6–9 months, or after about 180 wears, but how often depends on how many bras you own and how often you wear them. For bras, you'll want to think about replacing them once the band is stretched out or when you begin to wear it on the tightest band setting. If the elastic doesn't have much life left, it won't give you the support you need, which can cause back pain and general discomfort. Underwear bottoms, for both women and men, should be replaced every 6-12 months.

An Unorthodox Way to Recycle Your Bra

On Facebook, I stumbled upon a unique way to recycle your underwear! Recycle, Reuse and Repurpose! on Facebook is an amazing public group with over 1.5 million members. Regular folks share many of their incredible life hacks with each other, and through that, conversations stem and greater innovation follows!

The Good Old Days posted a picture of a bra hanging between tree branches with bird seed in the cups, creating a very interesting bird feeder. Facebook won't let me embed the photo from the group here, but you can click here to see the post. However, The Good Old Days wasn't the only one with this idea. You can see a video of this concept at work below.

I also really love the comments on the post in Recycle, Reuse and Repurpose!. My favorite comment came from Catherine Warren who said "Don't do it, birds! It's a booby trap!" Another really good comment was from Hillbilly Moses who said "That's a great idea to keep unwanted visitors away." Depending on the crowd, Moses, it may entice other visitors!
