
Code Blue & Warming Info Now Available For Area Residents
As the Hudson Valley braces for what is being referred to as a 'prolific' snowstorm this weekend, the forecast also brings with it severely low temperatures. With more than 130 million people currently under alerts for snow, ice, and 'dangerously' low temperatures, several Hudson Valley counties are reminding residents of 'Code Blue' resources.

Dutchess County Shares Code Blue/Emergency Shelter Information
In Dutchess County, the DC Government wanted to remind residents that the county's CODE BLUE protocol is in effect for those who need shelter once temps drop below 32 degrees.
We collaborate with community partners to ensure every resident is safe. Call our Dept of Community & Family Services at 845-486-3300 on weekdays between 9am and 5pm or call 2-1-1 after business hours/weekends and you will be connected with staff who will work with you for shelter placement.
Community and Family Services, also known as DCFS, collaborates with a number of community and faith-based organizations and programs to provide emergency shelter and warming centers. Such organizations include Hudson River Housing, Community Housing Innovations, Pathways, HONOR and Christ Church in Poughkeepsie for seasonal warming,
There is also the option of contacting local law enforcement agency for assistance, and of course additional resources on the Dutchess County Government website, here.
Orange County Warming Center Options
Similarly, Orange County has established warming centers across the county as well, with options in Middletown (8-10 Mulberry Street), Newburgh at the Ministry (Hope Safe Tavern, 13 Bridge Street), and in Port Jervis at St. Peter's Lutheran Church (31 West Main Street). Ulster County Warming Center Information
In Ulster County, at the 2nda Iglesia La Mision Church at 80 Elmendorf Street in Kingston, the Warming Center/Shelter is operational from October 31st until March 31st, 24/7 for any individuals in need of shelter. (845) 334-0551 is the direct line to the center, while Family of Woodstock also offers a hotline at (845) 338-2370.
