The Connecticut supreme court has ruled a 17-year old girl with Hodgkin’s lymphoma must undergo chemotherapy. Cassandra C. made the decision to forgo the the treatment that doctors say give her a 85% survival rate. Cassandra doesn't want her body filled with toxins and has been seeking other forms of treatment. The teens mother Jackie Fortin is supporting her daughters decision...

"She does not want the toxins. She does not want people telling her what to do with her body and how to treat it. They are also killing her body. They are killing her organs. They’re killing her insides. It’s not even a matter of dying. She’s not going to die.”

But despite her mothers support the court has ruled that Cassandra is not old enough to make this type of decision on her own and has ruled she must undergo the treatment. My question to you is should she be forced? Should a court make a person treat an illness in way they don't want to treat it? Im torn because obviously this girl us young but she's almost 18...what then? Why force something she'll just stop in a few months. Not to mention the fact that medical care is expensive! Why force something that costs 10's of thousands of dollars. Even insurance doesn't cover everything! What do you think?
