To kick off the start of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, Hudson Valley residents can dine at some of their favorite local restaurants while raising funds to prevent child abuse and provide life-saving resources and programming.

Founded in 1973, The Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse’s mission has been to prevent child abuse and maltreatment in the Mid-Hudson Valley. Each year, the CPCA serves approximately 15,000 children and adults through prevention programming, support services, advocacy, and educational training. For more information, visit thecpca.org.

Since 1983, April has been designated as National Child Abuse Prevention Month. This annual observance is dedicated to raising awareness and preventing child abuse so that every child can grow up in a safe, stable, and nurturing environment free of abuse and neglect.

The Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse (CPCA) is partnering with 33 restaurants for its fourth annual Restaurant Week for Child Abuse Prevention. Between Monday, April 1 and Sunday April 7, partnering businesses will donate between 10 and 20 percent when patrons dine in or take out. Featured businesses are in Poughkeepsie, Fishkill, LaGrangeville, Hopewell Junction, Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Hyde Park, Pawling, and Wappingers Falls.

“This event has become a signature part of Child Abuse Prevention Month for the CPCA,” said Marco Ingoglia, Executive Director of the CPCA. “It’s something that our supporters look forward to each year and provides us a special opportunity to highlight businesses who are dedicated to keeping children and our community safe.”
