According to the NPPD, the tip line, which is available by phone call, text, and email, is meant to be "a dedicated and confidential way to report concerns, hate crimes/ bias-motivated incidents, suspicious activity, or any other incidents affecting the safety and well-being of the community".

New Paltz Police Department's Community Outreach

The New Paltz Police Department has been recently involved in several community outreach initiatives, including their monthly Conversations with Police meetups at local coffee shops. October's event was hosted at Starbucks on Plattekill Avenue (below).

The tip line is available by calling (845) 255-1357 and selecting option 3. Texts and emails can be sent to  PoliceTipLine@newpaltzny.org. While the new tip line may be appropriate to share information on crimes that have already been committed, 911 is still the best way to report an emergency or crime in progress... or when you see a black bear on SUNY New Paltz's campus.
