Heartbreaking Announcement From New Paltz Donut Shop
A little over a year following the opening of their New Paltz storefront, Hole in the Wall Donuts has made a very sad announcement - but this isn't the end of their delicious donut offerings for good.

New Paltz Welcomes Hole in the Wall Donuts
In early August of 2025, the word was spread that a sweet new shop would be opening at 215 Main Street.
An exciting time for both the community, and the Hole in the Wall owner, Brandy Walters.
Unfortunately, back in May, Walters' shared an update regarding the status of the New Paltz storefront, which at the time had only been open for less than nine months.
We opened our shop in New Paltz back in September with big hopes and dreams...unfortunately it has not gone well for us and at this point we need to take a step back and reassess. We are not giving up, but we cannot afford to keep going on this way.
Walters' said that the Main Street, New Paltz location would remain open for a few additional days, close for the remainder of May, stay closed during June and July, and had plans for an August reopening. Walters spent time focusing on the newly opened Kingston storefront, just a block from the kitchen where their delicious donuts were born.

Update From Hole in the Wall Donuts, New Paltz
Sadly, on October 5th, Walters shared another update regarding the fate of the New Paltz store.
Sigh...this is not a post that I ever wanted to make.
New Paltz Shop is closed (Kingston is still open)
We tried, and at the end of the day failure happens...not everyone is going to like you...and your product is not for every market.
I sacrificed holidays, our van, and my physical health to try to make New Paltz substainable...it just wasnt the right place/time...
Please refrain from unkind words...at the end of the day I am just a woman out here trying her best and trying to feed people whimsical fried confections.

She reinforced that Kingston (580 Broadway) will remain open for business, and of course they'll be doing area farmers' markets, like Kingston and Beacon along with festivals (and they post each week on Instagram where you can find them in the community outside the shop hours).
