If you've been paying attention, you'll notice two trends recently in the Beer of the Week universe: New York beers and dark beers. Well that's continuing. This week, we feature the ever-popular Brooklyn Brewery and their phenomenal Dry Irish Stout. With St. Patrick's Day almost upon us, what better way to get your palate prepared for an unending stream of roasty deliciousness?

I love big, bold, heavy stouts--a nice Russian Imperial is hard to beat--but you won't find that with this beer. In fact, the entire style of dry Irish stout is the polar opposite of the popular perception of stouts: it's a light, low-ABV sessionable beer.
