Fire at Brand New Hudson Valley Restaurant: How to Help
One of the most highly-anticipated restaurants in the Hudson Valley is looking to rebuild after a kitchen fire forced them to close after only three months of business.
District Ramen, one of the newest businesses to open in the city of Newburgh, was a years-long project that finally came to fruition in February 2024. Unfortunately, disaster struck this week, and the restaurant is looking to bounce back.

"Today we had an bit of a tragedy..." began a recent Instagram post from District Ramen. "An electrical fire in our kitchen has forced us to close our doors for what will be an undetermined amount of time". Just days after an outpouring of support from the local community, there are several ways to help the fledgling business.
GoFundMe to Support District Ramen in Newburgh, NY
While District Ramen works on a first run of branded apparel to help support the rebuilding process, a GoFundMe page has also been launched. As of publishing, just over $4,000 of their $45,000 goal has been donated. Fires have been an unfortunate reality for several structures in the small five block area of downtown Newburgh where District Ramen is located.
Recent Fires in the City of Newburgh
Since November 2022, three fires, including the recent kitchen fire at District Ramen, have destroyed or damaged buildings in Newburgh, NY (above). While thankfully no one was hurt in any of the incidents, the City of Newburgh Fire Department has been very vocal about concerns over staffing for their team.
