A Legacy of Conservation

The Bronx Zoo, the flagship park of the Wildlife Conservation Society, first opened its doors on November 8, 1899. Since then, it has provided city dwellers with a unique glimpse into the natural world, all while serving as a hub for global conservation efforts. The exhibits span the globe, showcasing everything from toads native to Tanzania to big cats from the Russian Far East. The zoo inspires visitors of all ages to appreciate wildlife and join in conservation efforts.

How to Book Your Free Visit

To take advantage of Free Admission Wednesdays, you’ll need to plan ahead. Limited tickets are available, and advance timed reservations are required. The ticket store opens on Mondays at 5 PM for that Wednesday’s bookings. Remember, every visitor aged 3 and up must have a ticket for entry!

Forget the Bronx Zoo, take a trip to this hidden zoo in the Hudson Valley located right in Millbrook. View and learn about 80+ animals from all over the world at this 6-acre spot.
