Get Home Safe With a Free Cab Ride on New Year’s Eve

Go ahead and celebrate this New Year's Eve, just remember that when it's time to head home either give your keys to a designated driver or call a cab. This New Year's Eve, if you live in Rockland, Orange, or Sullivan Counties, the cab ride will be free.

Orange County and Dana Distributors have teamed up to provide cab rides free of charge to residents in Rockland, Orange, and Sullivan counties as part of the Alert Cab program. You'll be able to take advantage of this program from 4PM on Dec. 31 to 2AM on New Year’s Day. The Alert Cab program aims to improve road safety and prevent drunk driving during the holiday season and is paid for by Dana Distributors. It will involve 20 cab companies, including nine in Orange County.

A few things to keep in mind, your destination must be within a 10-mile radius of pickup and you must have driven your car to the location from which you’re being picked up. Participating bars and restaurants will have signs to let patrons know the program is available.
