There are a ton of ways for you to get involved with two great causes: drinking beer and helping the community.

You already know that Newburgh Brewing Company makes phenomenal beer and hosts WRRV Sessions every month, but what you might not know is how involved they are with causes all across the Hudson Valley. I figured it was about time to get the word out so that you can find something that you're passionate about--I mean, in addition to drinking beer--and get involved.

Date: Sunday May 31st 9am

Sunday May 31st Newburgh Brewing in conjunction with Dark Horse Cycles, Brookside Auto and Tire, and Celina Rofer-BHG Rand Realty will host the 2nd annual “Cycling to Cure Hunger” benefit bike ride. This is a 40 mile ride covering some of the Hudson Valley's most scenic roads, including crossing over the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, cycling though Beacon and Cold Spring, crossing the Bear Mountain Bridge, through historic West Point Military Academy, down scenic Route 218 and Cornwall on Hudson, finishing up at the Newburgh Brewery. Participants are asked to pledge $1 per mile, with total proceeds to benefit the HeartStrings program at Valley Central High School. This program provides take home food packets for needy students, lunch tickets, hygienic products, clothing, and counseling for students that have been victims of abuse. At the brewery participants will be treated to a free beer of their choice, and a choice of any lunch offerings, plus live music. A raffle for a juvenile mountain bike worth over $400 will be available with 100% of those proceeds to benefit the students as well. Ride begins at 9 am; registration is available HERE, as well as the morning of at the brewery. Let’s make a difference in someone’s lives while keeping the money and love local in the beautiful Hudson Valley.

And in addition to all of this, Newburgh features a different organization as guest bartenders every Sunday, with all tips going toward that cause. Get involved and, well, cheers!
