‘Granny’s Apple Fries’ Available in Hudson Valley For Just One Day

A special treat usually only available to theme park visitors will be available to the Hudson Valley for just one day.

LEGOLAND won't officially open the doors to their massive Hudson Valley theme park until 2020. But that's not stopping them from giving local residents a taste of what's to come.

Recently the theme park hosted a Brick-Or-Treat event throughout the Village of Goshen. The LEGO-themed Halloween event usually only takes place inside LEGOLAND theme parks, but Hudson Valley families were given a unique chance to find what the event is all about. Kids went trick-or-treating for LEGO items and were even invited back to the LEGOLAND Community Welcome Center for a special party.

Now, the Hudson Valley is getting treated to something even sweeter. Anyone who's ever been to a LEGOLAND theme park is familiar with the smells and tastes of Granny's Apple Fries. The park-exclusive treat has been a massive hit with visitors who happily line up for a taste of the apple-pie-like fries topped with whipped cream.

This weekend, fans of the exclusive treat and curious newcomers will have the rare opportunity to sample Granny's Apple Fries outside of the walls of the theme park. Culinary students from Orange-Ulster BOCES will be cooking up the treats using locally sourced apples and making them available to the public. The fries will be sold for just $3, with all proceeds going to LEGOLAND's Merlin's Magic Wand charity, which provides "magical days out for kids living with disability or adversity around the globe."

Granny's Apple Fries will be available at the LEGOLAND Community Welcome Center on North Church Street in Goshen this Saturday, November 10 from Noon to 3pm. For more details, you can visit their Facebook event listing.
