Wappinger Residents Can Now Borrow These Free Museum Passes
It's been a few years since I took a look at all of the benefits of having a library card here in the Hudson Valley. It always surprises me that people are not fully aware of what your library card can get you beyond just books and resources.
Admittedly, I worked at my local library growing up (big shout out to Blodgett in Fishkill) and I don't think I truly realized what a library card can unlock until I became a parent and started taking my daughter to (and paying for) all sorts of local attractions.

Here's What Wappinger Library Card Holders Can Access At No Cost
If you're a Wappinger resident, and have a library card at Grinnell, did you know that there are more than a dozen local attractions that you have access to for free?
Locally, you can check out the amazing artwork at Dia Beacon, take a trip through the history of music at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, and even grab a pass to take the kids to the Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum?
For those that love the outdoors, consider asking about a New York State Empire Pass for parks and beaches, or start planning a trip to Mohonk Preserve.
You can even venture down to NYC with passes for the American Museum of Natural History.
A comprehensive list of the museum passes that are accessible with a library card can be found below:
Grinnell Library did share their gratitude for the generosity of The Friends of the Grinnell Library, Stewart's Shops, and of course the neighboring museums for making these passes available.
Not Limited To Wappinger/Grinnell Library Card Holders
While the information above is specific to Wappinger residents and those who are library card holders at Grinnell, this perk is not limited solely to this audience. Most libraries offer museum or attraction passes for their card holders, and a quick search on your respective library website will give you detailed instructions on how to access a pass and any limitations or instructions.
Happy (FREE) exploring!
