The Hudson Valley has become a hot spot for film production.  The organization largely responsible for the increased activity could use your help.

The Hudson Valley Film Commission and Woodstock Film Festival operate under a very tight budget supported by donations. In 2011, the connected organizations purchased a piece of property that would become the Film Center. Renovations are on-going and any money collected goes directly into improving the property.

When a film chooses a Hudson Valley location to shoot their movie, often times the positive financial impact to surrounding hotels, restaurants and other business's can be felt as soon as the production moves in.

Director of the Hudson Valley Film Commission Laurent Rejtö had this to say about the organization:

The Hudson Valley Film Commission (HVFC) acts as a conduit for preproduction, production, and postproduction for film, tv and other media in the Hudson Valley and Catskill region. HVFC attracts 'filmmakers' from around the world to the region and provides support by referring locations, crew, cast, vendors and more.

The Film Center enhances the Hudson Valley Film Commission’s ability to bring jobs, educational opportunities and DIRECT REVENUE that results from local film, video and media production.

In order to compete with other states, regions and countries, the film commission provides services for free, so it relies on grants, and end of year giving to offset its office costs including much needed renovations. Any help is greatly appreciated and tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
