New York State has legalized medical marijuana in the form of pills and oils. Could the Hudson Valley's first medical marijuana farm be on it's way?The Daily Freeman reports a company by the name of Valley Agriceuticals has plans to develop Orange Counties first medical marijuana farm in Wallkill.

The operation would located on a 70 acre farm in town, while just 10 of those acres would be used. There are plans to build 60,000 square feet of greenhouses and another 40,000 square foot building designed to look like a horse or cow barn.

There are to be 5 locations chosen for medical farms throughout the state. So while the OC missed out on casinos, perhaps this will lead to a windfall of another kind.

Here's a look at new regulations for New York State.
