If you've ever wanted to own and operate a legendary club where the likes of Bob Dylan, David Bowie and The Black Crowes have played, now is your chance. Poughkeepsie's Chance Complex is for sale according to a listing at CR Properties Group. The 8,500 square foot building will cost you right around $1.8 million.

According to their website, The Chance was built in 1912 and opened as a vaudeville house called the Dutchess Theater in 1926. Ownership changed several times in the early days as the theater was playing vaudeville and silent films. The building was closed for a 25 year period from 1945 to 1970 and was used as a storage space for a time. The Chance was re-opened as a music venue in '70 by Larry Plover and he called the place, 'Sal's Last Chance Saloon'. During this era The Police, Ramones and Muddy Waters all graced the stage. After closing in '77, Pete Francese re-opened the club in 1980 under the name we all recognize, The Chance. Frank Pallett purchased the music venue in 1994 and has kept the scene alive for more than 20 years.

The Chance Complex boasts four clubs. The main room holds just shy of 750 people and  when taking the ground floor and balcony into consideration, covers more than 4,000 square feet. The Loft can hold 289 people while Platinum Lounge and Nuddy Irishman hold 150 and 91 respectively.
