A former employee at a Hudson Valley Rite Aid may have obtained customers names, addresses, and credit card information.

Rite Aid Corporation announced that an associate of the Rite Aid store located at 238 Hooker Avenue in Poughkeepsie, may have obtained customer information for the purpose of making unauthorized payment card transactions.

The company believes that information that could have been stolen includes customers’ names, addresses and payment card information. The number of victims is unknown. There is no indication that customer health information or Social Security numbers were taken.

Rite Aid encourages customers of the store located at 238 Hooker Avenue in Poughkeepsie to carefully review and monitor their bank and credit card statements. If a customer believes a payment card may have been affected, the customer should immediately contact the relevant bank or payment card company and City of Pougkeepsie Police.

Rite Aid says there is no indication that customer information from other stores were taken.

The issue was reported to law enforcement and Rite Aid been cooperating in their investigation. The employee has been terminated.
