The fox jumping over a stone wall (pictured above) was recently taken by a resident in Poughkeepsie and it looks like something straight out of a magazine. It's nice to see a healthy animal roaming around the area without a care in the world.

It's no surprise that the picture received a lot of great comments on Facebook. Some of the comments said:

  • Wendell- "Beautiful photo"
  • Melissa- "I didn't know they could fly"
  • Linda- "Wheee"
  • Marie- "That's a jump for sure"
  • Anne- "So cool great shot"

It really is a cool photo....

Why are Foxes important to the Hudson Valley?

Foxes do play a pretty important role in the ecosystem and a lot of people don't know this but it's important to have them around. According to officials, Foxes help maintain a healthy balance for the food chain and they help control the population of rodents. When there's a healthy fox roaming around it decreases the risks of infected rodents and public contact with infected ticks which overall helps the goodness of public's health.

So be mindful and respectful of Foxes and thank you to the Hudson Valley resident who shared this sweet photo.
